In a recent survey of 100 people over the age of 60 of what they looked for in a candidate. 

1. Honesty and integrity: A candidate should be truthful, transparent, and consistent in their words and actions. They should have a track record of keeping their promises and upholding the highest ethical standards.

2. Respect for the rule of law: A presidential candidate should demonstrate a deep respect for the Constitution, the separation of powers, and the democratic process. They should be committed to upholding the law and ensuring equal justice for all.

3. Compassion and empathy: A candidate should have the ability to understand and empathize with the needs and struggles of diverse groups of people. They should prioritize the well-being of all Americans and strive to create policies that benefit the greater good.

4. Responsibility and accountability: A presidential candidate should take responsibility for their actions, decisions, and the outcomes of their policies. They should be willing to admit mistakes, learn from them, and work to make amends.

5. Courage and leadership: A candidate should have the courage to make difficult decisions, stand up for their convictions, and lead the nation through challenging times. They should be able to inspire and unite people behind a common vision.

6. Fairness and impartiality: A presidential candidate should be committed to treating all people equally, regardless of their background, race, religion, or political affiliation. They should strive to create a just and inclusive society.

7. Humility and open-mindedness: A candidate should be willing to listen to diverse perspectives, value expertise, and make informed decisions based on facts and evidence. They should be open to feedback and willing to adapt when necessary.

8. Temperance and self-control: A presidential candidate should demonstrate emotional stability, self-discipline, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. They should avoid impulsive or reckless behavior that could jeopardize the nation's security or well-being.

9. Loyalty to the nation: A candidate should prioritize the interests of the United States and its citizens above personal or political gain. They should be committed to protecting national security, promoting prosperity, and upholding the values of democracy.
